Chicago Tribune: "Maps of the city as varied as its neighborhoods"

Last Tuesday I wrote about visual artist Tim Anderson rediscovering a painting he had made 15 years ago of the city of Chicago containing, to his calculations and research, some 198 different neighborhoods. He found the painting and had it professionally photographed, had copies made and began selling them. I praised the map and I praised the artist — and also the man who had commissioned the map as part of CITY 2000, that ambitious effort to capture photographically the city and its citizens over the course of that year.  Read More >
