Wilmette Historical Museum
The Wilmette Historical Museum is home to acclaimed programs and exhibits and a permanent collection that preserves the history of Wilmette. The Museum’s collections include photographs, oral histories, archives and personal papers that document the history of the Village of Wilmette and the former Village of Gross Point.
The photograph collections includes over 12,000 images on topics such as buildings, people, businesses, schools, and the lakefront. The images date from the 1850s to the present. The 60+ archival and manuscript collections include the records of local governmental bodies, organizations, schools and early families of the village. The collections also include local newspapers, over 100 oral history interviews with local people, and a variety of documents and published works pertaining to the area.
