Welcome to Northern Illinois University

This past spring, CCC was excited to welcome its newest member, Northern Illinois University (NIU). “Membership in CCC opens a new world of documentation for scholars studying Chicago through one portal and allows access even to those not in the immediate Chicago vicinity," says Patrick Dawson, Dean of NIU Libraries. From rare and extensive collections of children’s and series books, dime novels, science fiction and fantasy literature, and comics-- to the scenic collections and printed materials from the Lyric Opera of Chicago-- NIU holds significant materials connected to Chicago’s history and culture. Learn more about the NIU Libraries and its holdings here.
