Here is your opportunity to learn about the fascinating hidden stories found in four of Chicago Collections Consortium member organizations. During the webinar, viewers will dive into the following collections:
- Alliance Française - Renée Saito, Director of the Resource Center, will present on the archives of Alliance Française, a cultural institution founded in 1897 to promote French culture and language in Chicago. Their historical documents range from 1908 - present day.
- Chicago Academy of Sciences/Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum - Dawn Roberts, Director of Collections, will take us through the unique collections of the Chicago Academy of Sciences/Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, which was founded in 1857 to support learning and understanding about nature and science.
- Rush University Medical Center - Nathalie Wheaton, Archivist, will highlight the unique collections of Rush University Medical Center, which traces its roots back to the founding of Rush Medical College in 1837, two days before the city of Chicago was incorporated.
- Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) - Mary Richardson, Director of Library and Museum Services, will present on the MCA's archival collections spanning from 1967 to present day and tell the stories of the MCA through artists' books, exhibition records, publications, artist files, and more!
